Announcements
Continuous Education School in Computer Sciences at the Faculty of Sciences
The Faculty of Sciences of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) is pleased to announce the launching of its Continuous Education School in Computer Sciences for professionals and beginners.
From February 2012, courses will be offered in English, by professionals who have a large expertise in the fields of mobile computing, networking, security, servers and cloud computing.
Each course will have a duration of 45 hours and will be accredited as a 3 to 5 credit course (200 USD/credit).
At the end of each course, students will receive certificates of attendance from USEK and have the opportunity to pass exams accredited by internationally renowned institutions (Microsoft, Cisco, Global Knowledge, etc.).
These courses will offer an important added value to all participants:
- Students will be offered market tailored courses for a faster integration into the professional life.
- Professionals will be updated on the latest market news.
- Non-professionals will benefit from a better understanding of different computer tools for daily use.
The topics covered by the courses will be continuously updated, in order to keep up with the fast demands of the computer world. For the launching period, topics to be covered are the following:
- Game Programming: The game programming courses will help students to become professional game programmers. They will receive the basic building blocks to create their own personal game engine. They will also be able to use different known game engines to create their own games.
- Mobile Programming: The importance of mobile systems programming has emerged over the recent years as a new domain in software development. The design of mobile software requires developers to combine the rules applicable in an embedded environment: memory-awareness, limited performance, security, limited resources with features that are needed in a workstation environment, modifiability, run-time extensions, and rapid application development.
- Networking: This course teaches students how to design, build, troubleshoot, and secure computer networks, for increased access to career opportunities around the world. Networking courses will provide interactive tools and ‘hands-on’ learning activities to help individuals prepare for IT and networking careers in virtually every type of industry.
