USEK’s “Let’s Go Green for a Sustainable Future”

With climate change gaining attention in the world, the Development Office paved the way for USEK to become a green university, the first institution of its kind to take such a step in Lebanon and the region.

The Development Office was responsible for championing the idea of a fully green university, conducting preliminary studies, gathering the necessary expertise, fostering support amid the University body, contacting leading dignitaries, and engaging with the USEK community in order to successfully launch the “Let's Go Green for a Sustainable Future!” project and CAP master plan, which will transform USEK into the first fully carbon neutral university in the Middle East by 2025.

Lebanese Diaspora: Becoming a Hub

The Development Office has overseen an extensive number of Diaspora activities on campus, in an effort to make USEK the first Catholic hub for Lebanese diaspora activities in the Middle East and the world. Businessmen, artists, athletes, and some of the brightest talents from a wide spectrum of fields continue to come to USEK, along with world renowned and successful Lebanese diaspora academics.

In 2010, the Office is currently developing a Diaspora project that seeks to forge a mutually enriching relationship between Lebanese Christians living in Lebanon and the widespread Lebanese Christian diaspora in more than 30 countries. This project seeks to promote activities that help Lebanese expatriates rediscover their country while contributing to the economic growth of Lebanese Christian communities in order to help them stay rooted in their country.
