Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences
Overview

The Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, located at the heart of the beautiful campus of the Holy Spirit University, has welcomed students over the past two decades. Throughout this period, this faculty was concerned about the quality of its teaching and research; consequently it developed programs and curricula which targeted a diversified career springboard.

Besides this, and taking into consideration the new orientations of the University, the Faculty introduced the credit system, in order to offer a much greater degree of flexibility of teaching, and to better adapt the curriculum of Engineering in Agricultural to the globalization of the professional sectors and to research.

In addition, and in order to follow the markets’ development, the Faculty has created two new departments: firstly the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics and subsequently the Department of Agro-Food Sciences.

Objectives

Keeping faith with the mission of the Lebanese Maronite Order (LMO), and its fundamental goals, and also concerned with making significant contributions towards developing the Lebanese economy, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) established the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, with the aim of enabling future agronomists to serve and lead in professions requiring advanced skills in agriculture, agro-food, nutrition and dietetics.
