Established within USEK in 1974, the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts intends to be, like all other faculties, a place of research, vivacity and development:

• Looking for cultural roots, values of our heritage, identity within the regional and global contexts.
• Outreaching through the dissemination of education and research, as well as through participating and contributing to cultural and artistic activities.
• Developing through implementing research to real life and inserting it in today’s society.

Conscious of its human and spiritual mission, the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts meets, therefore, the objectives of a specialized education concerned about environmental challenges and constantly responding to the needs of its natural and human surroundings.

Taking into consideration social, cultural and economic development on the national, regional and international levels, the Faculty is constantly updating its mission. Its involvement in a wide range of study fields: in Architecture, in Interior Design, Graphic Design and Advertising, Sacred Art, Visual and Scenic Arts (options: Photography, Theater, Audiovisual: Arts Video and Multimedia, Cinema and Television) - contribute in enriching its fields of knowledge and promoting interaction among its different majors.

The Faculty ultimately aims at endowing its students with a cutting-edge education, enabling them to reach the finest human, scientific and technical knowledge in order to benefit from a smooth professional integration in accordance with the objectives of each program of studies. Such an ambition is concretized through developing creative, autonomous and critical thinking, communication skills, ability to adapt with the fast evolution of knowledge and practices as well as the development of the student’s personal profile.
