The precise aims of the Center are as follows:

• to give an introduction to the practice of the above-mentioned living languages,
• to provide more advanced training to those students who wish to specialize in these languages,
• to provide instruction in other languages in due course according to the needs that arise,
• and to train instructors, preparing them in the best ways to teach these languages to others.
