In accordance with the mission of the Lebanese Maronite Order (O.L.M), with its 300-year tradition and basic options, and wishing to contribute to the development of the medical sector and health services in Lebanon, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) created the Faculty of Medicine and Medical Sciences, with the express intention of providing initial and, therein, a continuing education of general practitioners and specialists.
Devoted to helping the formation of competent professionals and, simultaneously, to be at the service of all, the Faculty participates in the advancement of knowledge in the field of health and aims, to be nationally and internationally recognized for to the excellent quality of its teaching programs. The faculty's action is based on the values of excellence, humanism, intellectual rigor and the application of high moral standards through a continuously evolving medical education and introduction to research, in the clinical domain, public health and basic research.
Theoretical studies take place at the faculty and training at the University Hospital Center, "Notre Dame des Secours", in Jbeil.
Admission Conditions:
In order to fulfill the general admission conditions of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, the student must:
- Be holder of the Lebanese Baccalaureate, in a scientific branch or of any other equivalent officially recognized title.
- He/she must pass Proficiency French and English tests.
Admission into the 1st year must take place by:
- Entrance examination, organized by the faculty and including the following tests:
Physics
Chemistry
Biology
Mathematics
General knowledge
Studies System and Duration:
The study system is based on the credit-modular system. The study program is composed of several cycles:
- First cycle (72cr): a minimum of two years and a maximum of three years.
- Second cycle (140cr): a minimum of four years and a maximum of six years.
- Internship year (18cr): the internship duration is of 11 months, within which the student must also prepare and present a medical, end-of-study thesis.
- Post-doctoral education (Residency) which aims to formulate specialists.
