The Department of Music has 4 options of BA, Master and PhD.

Option Musicology
The option Musicology has as objective to go deeper into the musical knowledge and into everything that is related to music.This Department aims at whetting the intellectual curiosity among students by orienting them towards musicological research so to train good researchers in the musical domain.

Option Musical Education
Since that the musical teaching in schools and the pedagogic role of the music in the stability and the development of the personality are very important, the Faculty has constantly encouraged schools to introduce the music in the school programs from one side, and to train within this Department music professors according to the most efficient pedagogic methods, from the other side.

Option Ethnomusicology
This option is addressed to students wishing to specialize in the study of popular music (primitive and traditional) as well as music of high cultures worldwide. It is therefore the study of indigenous music of peoples and countries.

Option Sacred Music
Aware of the immense work to achieve, and especially of the necessity of planning in the domain of sacred music in Lebanon, the Faculty of Music at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) has created in October 1972, a Center of Sacred Music.

The Department of Higher and Specialized Music Education has 3 options of BA, Master and PhD:

Musical Instrument or Singing (Occidental Classical or Arabic)
Music Composition
Solfeggio / Dictation

This Department is intended for the students of the School of Music who have had their baccalaureate, have reached the ¾ of the instrument or singing program, and want to perfect in the domain of performance and interpretation. These students will obtain at the end of their academic studies a Degree (Final Studies Diploma) or a Master (Higher Diploma) in Higher Education in Specialized Music.
