The Center has three main tasks:
Reproduction
The workshop provides:
- The reproduction of microfilms or microfiches on CD-ROM or paper.
- The digitization of books, magazines, images or photos
Conservation of microfilms and microfiches
- The Main Library currently holds 1650 microfilms and 26 microfiches, most of which are manuscripts of Maronite and Syriac Heritage.
Digitization :
The OLM manuscrits :
- The studio is mainly made up of a Canon Eos 1 D camera (6 pixels, 6.000.000 dpi) with its accessories
- The workshop has so far digitized 3500 manuscripts belonging to the OLM.
From the Lebanese Heritage
The Main Library has started with a massive process of digitization of the Maronite and Lebanese heritage. It has so far completed the digitization of the collections of:
- Attorney Philippe Torbey: 111 files (137 CD-ROM) concerning the trials of the OLM that mainly belong to Attorney Sami El Khoury.
- Archbishop of Cyprus: 20 manuscripts including mostly baptism and marriage registers. A contract was signed between the Archbishop and the Main Library in order to manage the use of this collection.
- Mgr. Elias Hayek: 3 manuscripts have been so far digitized.
