Responding to the need of moving, relaxing and sparing the pains caused by physical inactivity, of developing one’s team spirit, the USEK Sports Service is made up of a team of highly qualified trainers and offers several activities in form of courses or competitions. The Sports Service also provides the University Community with several equipment and facilities that meet quality standards.

Juvenal’s sentence, “A healthy mind in a healthy body” (Satires, 10), sums up the main virtues of sports. A spirit to command, a body to perform. And it goes without saying that practicing a sport has several positive effects on people, whether physical or psychological.

Therefore, the Sports Service underlines, inter alia, the social and friendly aspects that the practice of a physical activity provides. Collective sports which are proposed on campus particularly promote the development of the team spirit, the sense of belonging to a group and a friendly atmosphere prevailing in the heart of this unit and helping to forge lasting friendship and solidarity bonds.

Privileged space of conviviality and solidarity, the Sport Service organizes throughout the academic year, and beyond it, various sports, cultural and recreational activities. It also takes part in interuniversity competitions in Lebanon and abroad, represented by its different official selections.
