The practice of Commercial Law in Lebanon, 75 years after the Code

Three quarters of a century after the launch of the Lebanese Commercial Code warrants a look into how it has aged and the practical aspects of addressing the necessary reforms needed to remedy the decay of this commercial legislation.

In this perspective, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), in collaboration with Dr. Gaby Chahine, Magistrate and Professor at the USEK Faculty of Law, organized an international colloquium entitled: “The Practice of Commercial Law in Lebanon, 75 years after the Code”.

This colloquium forms a continuation of the research already conducted on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Lebanese Code of Commerce, and aims to decode operational issues in order to anticipate a potential reform of the Commercial Code. The proceedings of the colloquium will be published in the works of the Legal Research Center of the USEK Faculty of Law.

This event, hosted by the Faculty of Law, took place on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the Jean El Hawa Auditorium.
