The Certificate in Leadership Award Ceremony

On October 4, 2012, The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik and The George Washington University (GWU) organized the Certificate in Leadership Award Ceremony for the promotion of experts and specialists in business management. These experts and specialists have completed a joint program on leadership between the abovementioned universities. Elite social and educational figures attended this event.

Mrs. Madonna Salameh, Head of Corporate Relations at the Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences at USEK, inaugurated the ceremony, saying that “… these certificates are exclusively granted by the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik in the MENA region” and added that “… the second session will be launched in November 2012”.

Dr. Georges Jabbour, Director of the Master’s Program in the Science of Funding at GWU and the Director of the GWU Leadership Program in Lebanon, stated that Professors at GWU are willing to visit USEK again and that they are looking forward to the visit of the latter’s representatives to the University in Washington where they can discuss not only leadership, but also debate how to make the world a better place.

On behalf of the Dean, Dr. Doug Guthrie, and Professors of the School of Business at GWU, the Vice Dean and the Dean of programs and education in the Faculty, Prof. Murat Tarimcilar, congratulated the holders of the Leadership Certificates and said that “… the region is in a dire need for great leaders in all aspects of life and we are confident that graduates from this program will serve this goal successfully in the future”.

The Dean of the Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences at USEK, Dr. Nehme Azouri stated that “… it is necessary to recreate the way people deal with each other’s in this ever changing and competing world”. He thanked Dr. Jabbour and Dean Tarimcilar for their contribution to the success of the program that granted high level certificates to high level executives and administrators from different corporations. He concluded by quoting Vince Lombardi: “Leaders are made, they are not born. They are made by hard effort, which is the price which all of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile.”

Ms. Lea Yahchouchi, International Relations Coordinator at the Faculty of Business at USEK presented an overview on the 2nd PRME MENA Regional Forum that will be organized by the Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences at USEK on November 7 and 8, 2012.

Finally, certificates were distributed to the participants in the Leadership Program.
