From March 11 to 14, 2014, the Faculty of Law of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) organized a seminar entitled “Lawyers, Contracts and Negotiations” in which prominent international lawyers participated.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Reverend Father Talal Hachem declared: “Lawyers, who have the skills of writing contracts in English and of negotiating efficiently, are capable of developing the spirit of competition and of improving their professional career.”

He ended his speech by announcing that, for the second time in Lebanon, top lawyers will be explaining every step related to founding contracts, their negotiation and their drafting.
The seminar proceeded to tackle the different methods of resolving conflicts and of negotiating contracts.

Speakers who participated in the seminar included: Mr. Steven Richman, Partner at Duane Morris and since 2007, the Publications Officer, at the International Sales and Contracts Committee, at the International Bar Association, Mr. John Boehm, Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright, Mr. Michael Polkinghorn, Partner at White and Case, Ms. Cynthia Adams, Professor at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, and Mr. Arash Attar-Rezvani, Counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Also in attendance, Mr. Andrea Carlevaris, the General Secretary of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, along with two representatives of the ICC Dispute Resolution Services, Mr. Sami Houerbi and Mrs. Mathilde Vital Durand.

At the end of the ceremony, certificates of participation were delivered to participants.
