In collaboration with the Department of Food Sciences, the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics launched a nutrition education campaign targeting secondary school students in Lebanese schools on March 11, 2008.

This campaign was aimed at informing high school students and orienting them towards healthier nutrition and food consumption habits as well as a healthier life hygiene (physical activity, food hygiene, etc.) while depicting to them the multiple impacts of food consumption on health in the short and long terms.

This campaign tackled the various food consumption groups and each group’s nutritive substances, their functions, impacts and stakes with regard to health not to mention food products. Furthermore, this campaign put special emphasis on the nutrition and food problems that are frequently found among adolescents.
