On the occasion of the Feast of St. Anthony, the teaching body of the Faculty of Sciences and Computer Engineering organized a reception in the Century Park Hotel, Kaslik.
We were honored by the presence of:
- Fr. Dr. Antoine Al Ahmar, Vice-Rector of USEK and Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Computer Engineering
- Fr. Dr. Georges Hobeika, Vice- Rector of USEK
- Fr. Louis Samaha, Director of the USEK branch in Zahle and President of Caritas-Lebanon.

Professor Genevieve Lemaire, President of the Department of Biology in the University of Paris XI in Orsay was the guest of honor of that evening.
The Department of Chemistry-Biochemistry Naim Ouaini made a welcoming speech to the “small family” consisting of one hundred teachers present and representing “our big family” of USEK.
He also expressed his wishes for a productive day to the Faculty’s Dean Fr. Dr. Antoine Al Ahmar who firstly thanked the organizer and all the persons present and, touched by the teachers’ gesture, expressed his best wishes for the year 2004.
He also welcomed Professor Genevieve Lemaire who came especially to give courses to our Biochemistry students (B.Sc. and M.Sc.). In the name of the Faculty, Fr. Dr. Antoine Al Ahmar offered a gift to Fr. Dr. Georges Hobeika thanking him for his help and precious support in the Equivalence Committee.
Fr. Louis Samaha was also honored by the Dean and received a congratulations gift for his nomination in the presidency of Caritas-Lebanon.
The reception took place in a familial ambiance accompanied by the chants of engineering student (Elie Zaghrini). A cake containing the logo of the Faculty was cut by the guests at the end of the reception.
