Reforming the Lebanese Constitutional Council: A Step towards Democracy

As the Lebanese constitutional council celebrated 20 years of existence, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) marked the occasion with a roundtable entitled “Reforming the Lebanese Constitutional Council: A Step towards Democracy”.

This event, hosted by the Faculty of Law, took place on Tuesday December 9, 2014, at 5:00 pm, in the in the John Paul II Amphitheater, at USEK Main Campus.

The roundtable aimed to provide a space for a robust reflection and debate on the achievements of the Lebanese Constitutional Council and the challenges it has experienced over the past 20 years. Most importantly, the purpose of this roundtable was to stimulate debate and provide a small reflective space to engage, provoke and constructively explore a draft presented by USEK Faculty of Law aiming to reform the constitutional council.
