Dean’s Word

Since it was established in 1974, the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts has proven to be a place of life, fulfillment, openness, engagement and acquisition of knowledge and professional skills.

Its mission has been to develop an efficient system for the nurturing of the spirit, creativity and human potential of the young people of Lebanon.

Within its different departments, the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts equips its students with various competences, responding therefore to economic, cultural and social changes in Lebanon. Studies offered by the Faculty, ranging from a Bachelor degree to a PhD, in Architecture, Interior Design, Advertising, Graphic Design, Visual and Performing Arts, and Sacred Art, enable students to acquire practical and theoretical knowledge in order to face the challenges of globalization and to enhance their employability.

The Faculty adopts a development plan which combines, first, modern teaching methods and the latest technologies, and second, theory and practice. It has a network of cooperation with various local, regional and international academic organizations that has resulted in exchange programs, as well as common seminars and projects targeted at both students and instructors.

Finally, the Faculty organizes various cultural activities throughout the semester that involve all artistic disciplines. These events include lectures, meetings, seminars, workshops, exhibitions and screenings that help students to be in touch with everything new in the world of creation and the most varied means of expression.
