This center has three major functions :
A- Reprography
- Reproduction of microfilms or microfiches on CD ROM or paper. This operation is processed through the use of the Screen Scan MS 400 (400 dpi).

- This is for the digitization of books, magazines, images or pictures.

B- The conservation of microfilms and microfiches
- The Main Library currently owns 1650 microfilms and 26 microfiches, most of which are manuscripts from the Syriac and Maronite heritage.
C- The digitization of LMO manuscripts
- The Main Library first signed a contract with Brigham University, and then with St-John’s University (American Benedictines), that manages the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library (HMML), for the digitization of the OLM manuscripts which is undertaking this procedure. It is stipulated in the contract that the American partner provides the equipment and the Central Library the staff. A copy of the CDs will be sent to the American partner to be kept in its own library and included in its database on the Internet..
- The contract was renewed in February 2004 for the renewable period of one year.
- The studio consists of a camera Canon Eos 1 D (6 pixels, 6.000.000 dpi) with its accessories.
- The workshop has so far digitized 187 manuscripts belonging to the OLM (368 CD ROM).
D- The digitization of the Lebanese heritage
The Main Library initiated a vast operation of digitizing the Lebanese and Maronite heritage. To date, it has digitized the holdings of :
- Me Philippe Torbey: 111 files (137 CD ROM) regarding OLM lawsuits and mainly belonging to the attorney Sami El-Khoury.
- Archdiocese of Cyprus : 20 manuscripts containing mainly registers of baptisms and marriages. A contract was signed between the Archdiocese and the Central Library to organize the use of this collection.
- Mgr Elias Hayek: Three manuscripts have been digitized so far.
