We seek qualified, supportive, thoughtful writers from any major who are looking to further develop their writing skills and acquire an interpersonal experience.

Students who wish to become peer tutors will attend a training in the theories and strategies of writing and writing tutoring.

Applicants should:

• Be graduate students or undergraduate students having completed 60 credits.
• Have an overall GPA above 88.

Applicants for a peer-tutoring position in the Writing Center must also have above-average writing skills and interpersonal skills—attentiveness, empathy, respect, patience, courtesy— necessary for working closely with students of varying abilities.

Students who would like to apply must send their request to writingcenter@usek.edu.lb and attach the following:

• a CV;
• an academic transcript;
-a brief statement explaining why they want to become tutors;
• a recommendation letter from a faculty member (who can speak about their writing and interpersonal skills);
• and at least one recent academic writing sample.
