The Higher Institute of Political and Administrative Sciences and the Center of Studies and Cultures of Latin America at USEK organize a series of lectures for the 2010 – 2011 academic year, given by the ambassadors of Latin America in Lebanon, every Thursday from March 17 to May 19, 2011 from 12:30 p.m. till 1:45 p.m.

Foreign Policy – Latin America and its Relations with the Middle East
This lecture course, mandatory in the BA program, has a clear objective: make students aware of an unavoidable issue for a good understanding of the political challenges of the XXI century, namely the development of Latin American countries. Indeed, the status of the Middle East at the beginning of the XXI century inevitably recalls that of Latin America following the end of the Spanish and Portuguese dominations, wherein the collapse of the empire gave birth to a series of independent countries, sharing the same language and culture. Approaching this continent through its foreign policy will enable the student to become acquainted with an increasingly dynamic policy with the Middle East.

This course is given by Latin-American specialists, particularly ambassadors invited by the Center of Studies and Cultures of Latin America at USEK, the first center of its kind in the Middle East.
