Visits on the theme “Eat better and spend less” were organized on Saturday January 5, 2008 to the houses of families living in precarious financial conditions in Antelias, Bourj Hammoud and Nabaa. The avowed aim of these meetings was to inform and prevent malnutrition within the family, particularly within the neediest groups of the population.

87 students registered in the community nutrition course thus led an awareness campaign to the benefit of these families, particularly with housewives. Students were divided for this purpose into groups that gave the various families they met with nutritional advice. Moreover, the students offered these families a food basket with typical balanced and relatively cheap products in order to “substantiate” their campaign with proofs. This was also a means to do some charity since each group of students was responsible for subsidising and preparing this food basket.

This activity was organized in collaboration with the humanitarian association Mission De Vie (Lebanon).

Three officials from the association accompanied the students and provided them with guidance throughout the duration of the activity.
