A scientific convention of cooperation was signed between USEK and UTBM (University of Technology of Belfort-Montbeliard) regarding the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering.
Those present at the signing ceremony included the deputy Mr. Walid Khoury, the cooperation attaché of the French Embassy in Lebanon, Mr. Jean-Noël Baleo, the Director General of the Ministry of Higher Education in Lebanon, Mr. Ahmad Jammal, the President of USEK, Fr. Antoine Al Ahmar and his counterpart, the President of UTBM, Mr. Pascal Baker, the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, Mr. Naïm Ouaini, accompanied by the members of the Faculty Council, the deans at USEK, in addition to a delegation from UTBM, industrialists, teachers and students of USEK.

In his speech, Mr. Naïm Ouaini expressed his pleasure at the signing of this cooperation agreement, since it represents the crowning of 2 years of work and which has several objectives: to support and encourage the exchange of teachers and students on common programs, to create and promote common axes of scientific and industrial research which would be relevant for publication.

Following this speech, Mr. Pascal Baker presented the various diplomas granted by UTBM and the cooperation of his university with foreign universities whose program is mainly based on the exchange of students of various disciplines. He insisted on the importance of inter-university cooperation in the training of Computer Science engineers.

Finally, after thanking all those who contributed to the realization of this convention, the President of USEK, Fr. Antoine Al Ahmar wished that this convention would facilitate academic relations between the two universities and allow for the realization of common work. These activities relate to various levels within the framework of developing the programs as well as the research projects. Four students were chosen to pursue their diploma studies in Engineering at UTBM.

After the signing of this cooperation agreement, the ceremony was concluded with a reception.
