USEK’s Deputy President for Research Professor Walid Hleihel and Director of the Higher Center for Research Professor Nabil Nemer represented our institution on an official visit to Qatar University, during which they were warmly received by Professor Hamad Al-Saad Al-Kuwari, director of the Environmental Science Center. Professor Nemer delivered a captivating presentation, titled “Fluttering Futures: Climate Change and the Fate of Insect-driven Ecosystems,” igniting insightful discussions among faculty researchers from Qatar University and representatives from the Qatari Ministry of Environment and Climate Change on pressing environmental issues.

Following the seminar presentation, Professors Hleihel and Nemer engaged in fruitful dialogues with Professor Al-Kuwari and their counterparts at Qatar University, with the aim of establishing meaningful connections and paving the way for future research collaborations on topics of shared interest between the two institutions.

Overall, the visit was a significant step towards fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and addressing environmental challenges through joint research efforts between USEK and Qatar University faculty.
