Coexistence in Lebanon and in Canada: What Does the Future Hold for Democratic Citizenship?

The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) organized a roundtable entitled: “Coexistence in Lebanon and in Canada: What Does the Future Hold for Democratic Citizenship?”.

This event, hosted by the Research Center on Minorities in the Middle East (RCMME), in collaboration with the Embassy of Canada in Lebanon, took place on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in Room HS315.

The objective of this roundtable was to highlight the convergent values that underpin coexistence of plural societies (multi-communal, multi-linguistic, etc.), particularly values in Lebanon and Canada, and to emphasize the challenges raised by this ‘living-together’ governed by liberal democracy.
