Elias Ayoub, MD

Dr. Ayoub obtained his Bachelor of Science degree and Doctor of Medicine degree from Creighton University in Nebraska. He completed his otolaryngology residency in Cleveland, Ohio. Since 1980, Dr. Ayoub has been in private practice in Southern California. He is a professor of Surgery at Western University of Health Sciences.

Dr. Ayoub has held many medical positions, including Chief of Staff at St. Francis Hospital in Lynwood, California, and Chief of the Department of Surgery at St. Francis and Coast Plaza Hospital in California. He is a member of the Institute of Medical Quality and acts as an IMQ-Joint Commission for California Hospitals from 2002 to the present. He is a member of the Academy of Otolaryngology of Head and Neck Surgery, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of different societies, including Los Angeles Surgery Society and Centurion Research Club.

In 2013, Dr. Ayoub was presented the Catholic Doctor of the Year Award by Arch Bishop Gomez. Dr. Ayoub was inducted into St. Gregory’s Vatican Order by Cardinal Sandri. In 2008, was presented with the Medal of the National Order of the Cedar. Dr. Ayoub was also presented with the Ellis Island Award.

Dr. Ayoub served as the president of the American Lebanese Medical Association and the president of the National Apostolate of Maronites (NAM). In 2009, he served as the National Apostolate of Maronites Convention Chair. Dr. Ayoub has previously served as chairperson of the International Maronite Foundation Congress in 1994 and again in 2002. Dr. Ayoub is currently the president of Order of St. Sharbel in the United States, board member of World Patriarch Foundation, and national board member of In Defense of Christians.
