New program in Conservation, Restoration of Cultural Property & Sacred Art

The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) always endeavors to provide new specializations that keep pace with the demands of our modern times.

In collaboration with the University of Urbino in Italy, USEK has launched a new study program for the conservation and restoration of cultural property, a one-of-its-kind program in Lebanon and the Middle East.

The courses are animated by a series of lectures given by international experts and professors from the University of Urbino, who will be also teaching the courses of specialized subjects and giving the lab sessions.

The purpose of this specialization is to create job opportunities for the youth in a large-scale labor market. It is a new career not only in Lebanon, but also in many countries of the Middle East (including Jordan, Iraq, Syria and Palestine).

As for potential job opportunities, the conservator-restorer may:
  • teach in this field;
  • establish specialized private companies;
  • cooperate with the Directorate General of Antiquities, with the curators of museums, monasteries, churches and mosques or with the fans of collecting of cultural property.

If you are interested to become a conservator-restorer, please note that registration is still open. For more information or registration, kindly proceed to the USEK Admissions Office before September 7, 2020 or contact us on: +961 9 600 050 | admissions@usek.edu.lb.
