This book is written by Father Yaacoub El-Sakkim, the Lebanese Maronite monk. He narrates some of his personal memories and impressions of President Fouad Chehab, which he used to write down before going to bed.

These memoirs are not just confidential and non-confidential words and conversations between two men, but they also represent a testimony or another aspect that Fr. Yaacoub attempts to spontaneously outline about President Chehab during the period he was close to him as a priest, as a mentor and as a friend. Most of these conversations took place when Fouad Chehab was no longer the President. Fr. Yaacoub insisted on publishing them as he had written them, without any kind of language editing, so that they preserve their simplicity, spontaneity and credibility. Fr. Yaacoub wanted them to be published as they were originally written, as if he was afraid that a part of those moments, events and details would be lost in the darkness of memory and history.
