Purpose

The rooms in the Library are primarily designed for use by the USEK community for study, group work, training, and meetings.

  • Users can reserve study rooms for a period of up to two (2) hours per day and six (6) total hours per week;
  • Room reservation can be made online up to two (2) weeks in advance;
  • Reserved rooms must be claimed within the first 15 minutes of the reservation. Otherwise, the reservation is forfeited, and it will be made available to others;
  • USEK Library should be notified by e-mail of any changes, or cancelations at least 24 hours in advance so that the room can be made available for others to use;
  • Sessions must be promptly wrapped up at the end of the booked session to allow a smooth transfer to the next users scheduled to use the room;
  • Study rooms must be vacated thirty (30) minutes before library closing time;
  • In case of any change in the library schedule, the user will be notified by e-mail.

  • Library rooms may not be used for faculty office hours or instruction on an ongoing basis;
  • The door(s) to the room must be kept closed to keep the noise at a minimum;
  • Study rooms must be kept clean at all times;
  • The user who made the reservation will be held responsible for the group’s behavior and the condition of the room including any damage to the room, furniture and equipment;
  • Users will be charged replacement fees or fines for lost, damaged or stolen material;
  • In the event any problems are encountered with hardware or software, users must contact the Library Systems Administrator immediately (Basement Floor – Area 1) and not try to troubleshoot the problem themselves;
  • Users are responsible for their personal property. The Library is not liable for any loss or damage to personal property, so personal items must not be left unattended;
