As a visitor, you can use selected Library resources, such as the Library Catalog, online article indexes, and electronic texts. Visitors are also entitled to consult books, and borrow books if their subscription permits; they can also consult journals and other materials, and obtain some information/reference assistance.

To use the library, you need to apply for a Library card.

Library Account and Cards
  • To obtain a Library card, you must submit an online application form along with a scanned passport photograph and proof of identity (National ID, passport, etc.). You will be notified by e-mail once the card is ready;
  • When requesting books, you must present your Library card. Library cards cannot be given to anyone else to use, and lost cards must be reported immediately. The Library is not responsible for any outcome arising from the unauthorized use of your Library card;
  • Every Library user has a right to privacy and confidentiality while using Library materials; thus, names of borrowers and their accounts are never disclosed;
  • Library cards should be returned to the Circulation Desk at the end of your subscription, or when you decide to end your subscription;
  • There is a replacement fee for lost cards.

  • Electronic Databases: Search a large and varied collection (article databases, e-book collections…) of electronic resources;
  • Find a title: Use this search tool to find a book or journal;
  • One Search: Search the USEK Library catalog and many of our databases simultaneously to quickly provide comprehensive library results through a single search box.

Get Help

  • Ask Us: for assistance with your research by contacting a librarian in person;
  • Research appointments: Make an appointment with a librarian for in-depth help with your research paper or assignment;
  • Research guides: Use for help finding discipline specific resources;
  • Cite your sources: Learn how to cite your references properly;


  • One-day and One-week visitors who wish to copy can purchase a Copy Card at the Circulation Desk;
  • All other visitors may set up a CPS account on their USEK Library card;
  • To activate or recharge your account ask at the Circulation Desk;
  • The minimal activation or recharge fee is 5,000LL.;
  • Note that scanning a document to your email address is free of charge.


  • Exhibitions: Schedule to have your artwork (paintings, photos…) exhibited in the Library;
  • Film, Photography and Recording: schedule your session if you would like to make use of the premises for filming, photography or recording.

Change of Address

It is the responsibility of individuals to keep the Library informed of any address changes. Library fines will not be waived if alumni fail to notify us of a change of address. You can update your address with Library staff at the Circulation Desk of any branch of USEK Library.

Rules and regulations of USEK Library are to be respected. Failure to do so may result in the suspension of user borrowing privileges. Membership is discretionary and the Administration reserves the right to refuse applications for membership without redress. The Library is responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality of a borrower's transactions and for providing an environment conducive for research.
