Job Summary
The candidate is expected to have proven skills in the field of plant science and crop production, as well as in development, implementation, management, production, and marketing operations across a range of agricultural plant industries.
Teaching and Learning Responsibilities
- Teaches and educates students according to the guidelines set by USEK and to the needs and abilities of the students entrusted to their care
- Plans, designs, prepares, and delivers their assigned courses
- Assigns/corrects work and provides relevant feedback
- Assesses the progress of students’ performance and adapts the course content accordingly
- Provides guidance and advice to students on educational and social matters and on their future education and careers
- Cooperates with members of the department to develop/assess teaching programs
- Ensures high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching
- Participates in peer reviews and class observation when necessary
- Participates in School of Engineering meetings
- Nurtures a culture where the instructor is a facilitator of learning and a reflective practitioner
- Develops and participates in activities that support USEK’s strategic plan
Educational Background and Experience
- Diploma in Agriculture in Plant Production
- Proven skills in the field of plant science and crop production
- Relevant teaching experience in higher education using English as the language of instruction
