Melissa Gruys, Ph.D., SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Dr. Gruys is the Dean and a Professor of Management at the Monte Ahuja College of Business at Cleveland State University. A first-generation college student whose life was transformed by education; she has a strong passion for helping students transform their lives through education. She earned her Ph.D. in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. from the University of Minnesota-Morris with majors in Management, Economics, and Speech Communications. Prior to joining Cleveland State University, she served as a professor and administrator at Washington State University-Vancouver, Wright State University, and Purdue University Fort Wayne.

Dr. Gruys' has conducted research on counterproductive work behavior and creativity, publishing over 20 peer-reviewed articles in high-quality journals. She has received numerous accolades and awards for research, teaching, and service.
