USEK offers its female students the possibility of renting a room (single, double or triple) in its new University Residence, which was inaugurated in November 2007 and which is run by nuns of St. Theresa’s Order.
The University Residence provides modern, affordable, quality lodgings which are characterised by comfort and space. Thanks to a study on colours and light, this place radiates warmth and comfort, and favours study and reflection.
Above all, the University Residence promotes community life and favours exchanges and meetings among female students, thanks to multiple common spaces designed for studying, relaxing and enjoying various entertainments.
Location
The University Residence is located on USEK’s Kaslik campus in the immediate vicinity of the lecture halls, the Central Library, the Sports Department and the University cafeteria, etc.
Located on the outskirts of Jounieh and only 15 km to the north of Beirut, it can be easily and speedily accessed, by using the public transportation network.
Description
The rooms
The University Residence incorporates six ascending floors of rooms, which can accommodate up to 168 students.
Each storey is composed of fifteen rooms:
- 4 single rooms;
- 9 double rooms;
- 2 triple rooms.
All rooms are furnished with:
- Beds.
- Closets.
- Desks and chairs.
- Lockers.
- Lights and Venetian blinds.
Service is included in the rent and each room encompasses:
- A private bathroom (toilet, shower, WC).
- Electricity 24/7.
- Hot water 24/7.
- Air conditioning (hot and cold, VRV system).
- Central heating.
- Individual phone with an internal line.
- An electronic pass with card* and code.
* This electronic card has several functions (opening of doors, electronic wallet, prepaid external phone card, etc).
Common Spaces
The following spaces are put at the disposal of all female occupants:
- Common and private salons.
- Spaces with TV set videos, newspapers, magazines, etc.
- A cafeteria.
- A chapel.
- A fully-equipped kitchen on each floor, incorporating:
- One refrigerator per occupant, which can be locked.
- One locker per occupant.
- Several microwaves.
- Sinks, tables and chairs.
- A basement laundry (free access to washing machines, a dryer and ironing board).
Services
The University Residence offers its occupants the following services:
- 3 parking spaces in the basement.
- Individual Internet access in all rooms.
- A phone booth for external phone calls.
Security systems
There is maximum security in the building:
- Anti-seismic building.
- Smoke detectors throughout the building.
- Fire fighting system.
- Lightning conductor.
- A video surveillance system around the building and traffic zones (access to lifts and staircases, entrances of the Hall of residence, welcome parlour and enclosing wall).
- Security personnel at the entrances.
- BMS control system for all equipment.
Reservation

In order to reserve a room at USEK’s University Residence, kindly contact
sao@usek.edu.lb or call +961 9 600 280.
Add the following documents to the form:
- 1 photocopy of national ID (or passport for foreign female students).
- 1 photocopy of the residence permit for foreign female students.
- 2 recent passport photos.
- 1 photocopy of the USEK registration form.
- 1 medical certificate.
- 1 form to be filled in by the person acting as the student’s guarantor. (This form is to be found at the Residence’s welcome desk or at the University’s Admissions Office).
The complete file is to be submitted to the Residence’s welcome service.
It is worth mentioning that once full capacity is reached, any other students wishing a place will be put on a waiting list. Furthermore, priority will be given to full-time female students at USEK, whose main residence is located far away from the University.
Rental Agreement
Fees
The monthly rent, per room, including water, electricity, heating, air conditioning, amounts to:
- 400 USD for a single bed room.
- 600 USD for a twin bed room (i.e. 300 USD per person) ;
- 750 USD for a triple bed room (i.e. 250 USD per person).
A deposit of a one month’s rent will be required at the beginning of the first month of occupancy.
Opening Hours for Occupants
The University Residence is intended as a place to promote studies and relaxation. Hence, the premises and opening hours were devised in such a way, as to enable the female occupants to preserve some privacy, while taking part in community life.
